Summer Camp 2026
Embark on a journey with us at Wild Roots Summer Camp for your 3 to 6 year olds, where adventure meets education in the heart of our beautiful mountains! Our camp is designed to provide your child with an unforgettable summer experience, fostering a deep connection with nature while having a blast in a safe and supportive environment. Your child will have plenty of opportunities for hands-on exploration, new discoveries, and fun lessons that will encourage environmental awareness, teamwork, and a lifelong love for the outdoors.

Each day, our Wild Roots campers will have an opportunity for group activities, wild outdoor games, and engaging lessons about our weekly themes. We’ll explore the surrounding meadows on our daily hikes, play hide and seek in the sage bushes, and observe aquatic life in our neighborhood frog pond. Our campers will enjoy unstructured exploration in our natural playground, daily picnics, arts and crafts, and plenty of fun, informative adventures.
Weekly list 2026
Monday through Thusday,

How to prepare for camp:
Each day will include group games, art projects, discovery adventures, unstructured outdoor play and plenty of opportunities for learning about our natural world. Because we will be very active outdoors, please send your child dressed appropriately for camp each day (including weather-appropriate layers). Please DO NOT send your child in new clothes or shoes, we like to
get dirty and messy here! Old tennis shoes, closed-toe water shoes, or Crocs are great for activities.
Please send your child with the following:
-
Backpack that they are comfortable carrying
-
Healthy morning snack and lunch (no candy please)
-
Water bottle
-
Hat
-
Closed-toed shoes are mandatory. No sandals please, as they do not provide adequate foot protection on hikes.
-
Sunscreen already applied, plus additional bottle if you would like us to reapply in the afternoon
-
Change of clothing in a bag labeled with your child’s name
-
Bug spray is optional, we spend a fair amount of time deeply exploring the local vegetation.
Week 1: June 15 - 18
**Budding Botanists – Garden Adventures **
Put on your explorer hat and gardening gloves, magic is growing all around! Campers dig in the dirt, sprinkle seeds, water sprouts, and watch flowers and veggies pop up. We'll also practice plant identification and utilize local flora in craft activities. This is a fun week in a garden full of leafy adventures!
Week 2: June 22 - 25
**Kitchen Chemistry **
Bubbling, fizzing, and popping—get ready to mix, stir, and explode with easy household ingredients! Young scientists combine ingredients from the kitchen like milk, vinegar, baking soda, and more to create colorful reactions, foamy potions, and magical experiments. Every discovery sparks curiosity, problem-solving, and a love of hands-on science!
Week 3: June 29 - July 2
*Insect Investigators - Exploring the secret life of insects*
The tiniest creatures have the biggest stories, if you know how to look! Campers will crawl, peek, and explore as they observe ants, beetles, butterflies, and more. Using magnifying tools and careful observation, they’ll uncover how insects live, work, and interact with the world around them. Campers will think like entomologists as they discover the hidden life around them!
Week 4: July 6 - 9
**Wild Art - Create with Nature’s Materials **
Nature is full of amazing colors, shapes, and textures! Campers will collect leaves, flowers, rocks, and other natural treasures to create paintings, sculptures, and crafts. Using natural materials and their imagination, they’ll experiment with colors, patterns, and textures, discovering the artist in themselves while connecting with the beauty of the outdoors!
Week 5: July 13 - 16
*Tracks, Trails & Tails – Wildlife Detectives*
Follow the clues animals leave behind! Campers will identify tracks and scat, make plaster casts, and build mini wildlife corridors. They’ll imagine life from an animal’s point of view, create clay tracks and investigate the secret world of the forest, thinking like real wildlife detectives while having hands-on fun!
Week 6: July 20 - 23
*Forest Engineers – Nature-Inspired STEM*
Young explorers become nature’s engineers! Campers study beaver dams and bird nests, build mini stick bridges, design shelters, and test how wind and weight affect their creations. Hands-on challenges spark curiosity, problem-solving, and a love for the outdoors.
Week 7: July 27 - 30
**The Flow Zone**
Campers will celebrate the power of water with plenty of wet, engaging activities. We'll learn about the water cycle, conservation, and dive into plenty of hydro experiments. Campers will race boats, create rain and experiment with density and buoyancy, all while laughing, exploring, and making a big splash in nature!
